2020 Bulk Beef update

May 2020

2020 continues to be an interesting year. Covid 19 has significantly increased the interest in locally produced food. If I had a 100 beefers to sell this year it still wouldn't be enough.

Snow till the middle of May delayed the start the grazing season. With less than 2 inches of rains from the middle of May to this past week the pastures have really slowed down. Pray for more rain! Thankfully we've gotten some rain in the past couple days that should keep the grass growing. Who knows what the next challenge will be but so far we are holding on.

Bulk Beef Orders

Last year we offered early summer bulk beef. There wasn't much interest in it so we didn't plan on offering it again this year. With covid 19 that completely changed but I didn't have much beef ready to go that early in the year. So, all of the quarter and half beef orders will be ready in September, October, and November.

The scheduled processing dates are
September 16
October 14
November 25

>From butcher to being ready for pickup it takes about 3 weeks from the butcher date.
All beef is cut, vacuum packed, labeled and frozen.

If you ordered a half beef you will get to have it custom cut the way you want. Jordan will give you a call to go to explain the cutting options and figure out what you want.

Quarter beefs are standard cut in order to make sure each customer gets an equal portion of the half. We make sure the packaging sizes are on the smaller size to accommodate everyone as much as possible.

Mixed Beef Bundles

Will be ready early August. We have two butcher dates in July and will have the bundles ready by early August. If you ordered a mixed beef bundle I will be in touch soon.

If you have any questions send me an email. I'm going to be doing more facebook videos to answer the more common questions. So make sure you follow WintersGrass Farm on Facebook!

If you ordered beef from WintersGrass farm but didn't get on the email list make sure you do! It's the best way for us to keep you informed on what's going on.

Thank you all for your support of what we do and keeping the local food shed active and abundant! Its something we value and we know you do too.

Best,
Jordan Winters

Ps If you need some ground beef or steaks to hold you over till fall we have some available!

See you at the farm!
