Can't believe it's 2016 already! Spring is here and things are really getting busy. Right now I'm taking advantage of a cold snowy day in April to write up this years newsletter. We are super excited about what we got going on this year and look forward to sharing it with everyone.
News on the Farm
Last year Hannah and I leased a farm with roughly 90 acres of land just outside of Utica. We spent most of the year planting corn fields back to grass, fencing in 80 acres of pasture, setting up water systems, bushhogging some overgrown pastures, fixing up and repairing the old milkhouse, and tons of other stuff. This year we are ready to ramp things up a bit. So here's what's going on...
100% Grassfed Beef
This is one of our hottest products. We just can't keep up with the demand right now but we are working to raise more beef each year. Preference is given to current beef customers. Make sure you get your down payment in by May 15th to ensure your order!
Fresh chicken will be available starting May 19th, and going through the end of September. We will be raising a total of 7 batches. Check out the order form for specific processing dates. For those of you who want to stock up, we are still giving a 10% discount on single orders of 15 or more chickens.
Pastured Thanksgiving Turkeys
Always a popular item we plan on raising more of them this year. This year we will have both larger and smaller turkeys available to accommodate your Thanksgiving needs. Order early to reserve yours!
We are back to a spring batch and a fall batch. We have a limited supply available this June and a bigger batch started for this fall. We sent some pigs up to Red Barn Meats in Crohgan to give it a try. Jordan Brant does a great job and we've been loving the sausages, the smoked meats, and some of the other products he offers.
100% Grassfed Raw Milk
As I am sending this out we are just a couple weeks away from having our New York State Raw Milk License. The price will be $8 per gallon or if you want milk weekly you can sign up for our monthly subscription and get your milk at $6 per gallon. Whole and half gallons available. If you are interested in trying the milk, just e-mail me or give me a call.
